Wao-os is a Shrine in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Wao-os Shrine is a special Shrine that you can locate by investigating hints that you can gather from a Shrine Quest. As a Lever Power shrine, it tests the player's creativity and skill in solving puzzles using Link's abilities. Shrines are mini-dungeons, housing quick trials such as puzzles or short enemy encounters. Once a Shrine has been completed, the player obtains a Light of Blessing, an item key to obtaining more Heart Containers and Stamina Vessels, and the Shrine is unlocked as a Fast Travel point. If the Shrine has not been completed but has been activated, it will be marked in yellow on the map. It will still be available for fast travel so that can players return and complete the Shrine at a later time.

Wao-os Walkthrough Guide

Reaching Wao-os

The Wao-os Shrine can be located in the west area of the Hebra Region, inside the West Lake Totori Cave. This cave can be difficult to spot, but you can find some clues to it during the Shrine Quest The White Bird’s Guidance, which you can start by talking to Laissa in Rito Village. Afterward, head to the top of Rito Village, using a combination of Link’s Ascend ability and climbing up, and then glide to the northwest. You should be able to see a part of the mountain covered in snow made to look like a large white bird. Land on it and there should be a small opening to the west, leading to the West Lake Totori Cave. Head down and take the path to the left all the way to the shrine.

How to Complete Wao-os

Inside you’ll find yourself in a large room. Move forward and there’ll be a gate to your left, a block, a sphere, a large bowl, and at the end before a gap is a structure that looks like a seesaw. Across the room, beyond the gap, will be two circular structures. As the shrine's description suggests, the objective of this puzzle is to hit those structures with the sphere using the seesaw as some kind of lever for a makeshift catapult. To do that, you have to first attach the bowl to the closer end of the seesaw. Use Ultrahand to put the sphere inside the bowl, and then hold the block directly above the other end of the seesaw. When you let it go, it should catapult the sphere to hit the first target, which opens the gate to your left. Inside the gate will be a plank. Physics dictates you attach this to the seesaw to shoot the sphere higher, so detach the bowl first and fix your catapult accordingly. After everything’s set, shoot the sphere up again to hit the second target on the higher floor. This opens a gate on the topmost area of the room. This time get on the bowl yourself and then catapult yourself up, but turn around first to find a chest on a small platform, containing a Spicy Elixir.

Drop back down to your seesaw and this time catapult yourself all the way to the recently-opened gate. Examine the green runes inside for a Light of Blessing and unlock Wao-os Shrine on your map for Fast Travel.
