Shrines are mini-dungeons, housing quick trials such as puzzles or short enemy encounters. Once a Shrine has been completed, the player obtains a Light of Blessing, an item key to obtaining more Heart Containers and Stamina Vessels, and the Shrine is unlocked as a Fast Travel point. Riogok Shrine Walkthrough Guide
Reaching Riogok Shrine
The Riogok Shrine is located in the southwestern area of the Central Hyrule region, at the western edge of the lands around Hopper Pond. There’s no easy or best way to get there. If you’ve already cleared Tsutsu-um Shrine, you can Fast Travel there, then head south and climb the rock formation and then jump down shortly after to find the shrine. Otherwise, you can start by heading to the Hyrule Field Skyview Tower, launching up, and then gliding to the southwest. If you fall short, you can take a rest on the high rock formations of the Coliseum Ruins before continuing south to Hopper Pound. Head to the west past the waters to find the shrine.
How to Complete Riogok Shrine
Inside and down the stairs, you’ll find yourself in a short hall. At the end of the hall, you’ll find two disconnected gears, a pillar switch, and a stick. As the shrine description suggests, the puzzles here will be all about transferring momentum or causing things to move each other. To do so for this first section, use Ultrahand to Attach the stick in between the two gears to connect them. Hit the switch to get the gears to start moving and open the gate.
In the next room, you’ll find a gate to your right, a stick ahead of you, and another moving gear on your left. You’ll notice one side of the moving gear is a lot longer than the rest. There are platforms on the wall beside the moving gear, which are attached to sliders that will allow them to go up and down. Further ahead to the right, past the gate, will be a chest on a ledge above. Use Ultrahand to Attach the stick to it to reach it and claim the Mighty Construct Bow it contains. Next, Attach the stick to the lever outside the gate in order to turn it and get another stick from the other side. Attach the two sticks together, and attach them on the left side of the first platform on a slider. This will make it so that when the gear’s long side comes around, it’ll push the platform up. Ascend up the platform for a free ride. Next, bring the smaller platform as low as it can go. From here, you can either hop on it, use Ultrahand to bring your long stick to you, and Attach it onto the wall so you can climb it to get to the top, or you can simply hop on it and then use Recall on it for a free ride up.
Either way, when you get to the top, examine the green runes to obtain a Light of Blessing and unlock the Riogok Shrine on your map for Fast Travel.
