Timawak is a Shrine in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Timawak Shrine is a Courage to Fall Shrine testing the player's skills in finding the objectives that will solve the puzzles using Link's abilities. Shrines are mini-dungeons, housing quick trials such as puzzles or short enemy encounters. Once a Shrine has been completed, the player obtains a Light of Blessing, an item key to obtaining more Heart Containers and Stamina Vessels, and the Shrine is unlocked as a Fast Travel point. If the Shrine has not been completed but has been activated, it will be marked in yellow on the map. It will still be available for fast travel so that can players return and complete the Shrine at a later time.

Timawak Shrine Walkthrough Guide

Reaching Timawak Shrine

The Timawak Shrine is located in the southwestern area of the Eldin Region, in the Eldin Canyon, north of Goronbi Lake. The easiest way to get there would be to go to the Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower, launch up, and glide slightly northeast until you see the shrine on top of a small plateau.

How to Complete Timawak Shrine

Inside and down some stairs you’ll find yourself in a large room with some flowing lava in front of you. To the left is an active Hydrant that’ll be making some platforms on the lava as it continuously moves left and right. As the shrine description suggests, you’ll have to find ways to cross the currents of lava to move forward. For this first section, simply use the platforms that are created by the Hydrant to cross. Follow the path to eventually come across a Soldier Construct II guarding a runed plate. Turn around and you should see the runed sphere to match it across some lava to your left. Another active Hydrant is making platforms on the lava here, so grab them with Ultrahand and Attach them together to make a bridge to reach the sphere. Past the sphere is a chest containing a Mighty Zonaite Shield, so use the platforms again to reach it. Bring the sphere back to the plate and place it in its intended slot.

Past the gate that opens is an even larger hall with a much larger pool of lava. Activate the Fan to your right for a boost up to reach the Hydrants in the upper area. Place one of them near the edge and point it toward the lava before activating it. Head back down and grab the small platform that the Hydrant creates on the lava. Attach the Fan behind it, put your makeshift motorboat on the lava, activate the Fan, and ride it across the hall.

Examine the green runes on the other side to obtain a Light of Blessing and unlock the Timawak Shrine on your map for Fast Travel.
