Mayanas is a Shrine in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Mayanas Shrine is a The Ice Guides You Shrine testing the player's skills in finding the objectives that will solve the puzzles using Link's abilities. Shrines are mini-dungeons, housing quick trials such as puzzles or short enemy encounters. Once a Shrine has been completed, the player obtains a Light of Blessing, an item key to obtaining more Heart Containers and Stamina Vessels, and the Shrine is unlocked as a Fast Travel point. If the Shrine has not been completed but has been activated, it will be marked in yellow on the map. It will still be available for fast travel so that can players return and complete the Shrine at a later time.

Mayanas Shrine Walkthrough Guide

Reaching Mayanas Shrine

Seek the crystal connected to the beam, and offer it at the shrine. Do so, and I will grant you a light that banishes evil.

The Mayanas Shrine is located in the central area of the South Lanayru Sky Archipelago, in the Lanayru Sky. To get there, head first to the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower on Mount Lanayru, launch up, and then glide to the northeast. You won’t make it to the archipelago you want to go to immediately, but for now, you just want to land on a smaller floating island with some platforms guarded by a Soldier Construct I directly to the northeast as you glide. There should be a Hovercraft there already built for you to ride further up in the same direction. Eventually, you should be able to make it to the southwestern area of the South Lanayru Sky Archipelago. Guarded by two more Soldier Construct Is. There should be another Hovercraft here that you can use to get to the islands that are further above. Use it to head east to the cross-shaped island. The shrine entrance should be sitting on its northwestern edge.

Examining the runes will start the Shrine Quest The South Lanayru Sky Crystal, which you’ll have to complete to allow entrance into the shrine. To do so, you’ll have to find the crystal, which the green light from the shrine should now be pointing to, and bring it back to the shrine entrance. You’ll notice that the green beam of light shooting from the shrine is pointing far above you to the northeast. Follow the path on the island to the northeast to another Hovercraft. Use it to get to the island even higher to the northeast, where the green light should be pointing toward, past three more Soldier Construct Is on floating platforms. Head all the way up to eventually be stopped by a wall of vines. Use any fire-empowered attack to burn them away and head inside. Do the same to another vine wall, behind which the shrine crystal is sitting. Use the Wing, Steering Stick, and Fans here to make a Fanplane, and then Attach some Batteries to it. Attach the shrine crystal and then ride it to the southwest all the way back to the cross-shaped island and the shrine entrance. Bring the crystal in front of the shrine entrance to complete the Shrine Quest and allow yourself entry.

How to Complete Mayanas Shrine

You who offers the crystal. I will grant you a light that banishes evil.

Inside and down the stairs, you’ll find yourself in a large room with a pond, Frost Emitters, and Ice Fruits. Past them will be a slope inclined downward, leading to a floor covered with spikes, and a target moving left and right at the end. As the shrine description suggests, you’ll have to manipulate ice in order to move forward in this shrine. For this first section, create some ice on the water using either the Frost Emitter or the Ice Fruits, and then slide them down the slope, aiming to hit the moving target. When you successfully hit the target with the ice, the gate will open behind you, allowing you to move forward.

Past the gate, ignore the green runes first, to another room with the same set-up as the last section, except this time the spiked floor also curves downward to the left, where a target is fixed. Just like before, create some ice on the water using either the Frost Emitter or the Ice Fruits and then slide them on the right side of the downward slope to allow them to curve to the left and eventually hit the target. Alternatively, you can also create longer plates of ice, Attach them together, and then just use Ultrahand to place them on the target yourself. Successfully hitting the target will open another gate behind you, guarding a chest that contains a Mighty Zonaite Shield.

Head back to the green runes and examine them to obtain a Light of Blessing and unlock the Mayanas Shrine on your map for Fast Travel.
