Kyokugon Shrine is an Alignment of Circles Shrine testing the player's skills in finding the objectives that will solve the puzzles using Link's abilities. Shrines are mini-dungeons, housing quick trials such as puzzles or short enemy encounters. Once a Shrine has been completed, the player obtains a Light of Blessing, an item key to obtaining more Heart Containers and Stamina Vessels, and the Shrine is unlocked as a Fast Travel point. If the Shrine has not been completed but has been activated, it will be marked in yellow on the map. Kyokugon Shrine Walkthrough Guide
Reaching Kyokugon Shrine
The Kyokugon Shrine is located in the southwestern area of the Central Hyrule region, in the Great Plateau Foothill Cave, outside the Forest of Spirits. The easiest way to get there would be to head to Hyrule Field Skyview Tower and then head south past the surrounding west areas of Lake Kolomo. At the bottom of the large rock formation, you should see a cave opening blocked by breakable rocks. Break them to enter the Great Plateau Foothill Cave. Keep breaking rocks until you’re greeted by two Black Horriblins. Past them should be more breakable rocks. Get through them to finally find the shrine entrance.
How to Complete Kyokugon Shrine
Inside and up the stairs, you’ll find yourself in a spacious room. With multiple runed-plates and only four runed-spheres. If you look above you, there are green circles on certain spots on the ceiling. As the shrine description suggests, you’ll have to align these green circles with the green circles that’ll appear once you put the spheres into their slots in the green plates. These green circles on the ceiling will show you which runed-plates to use.
Head to the right first and up the stairs to the first two spheres. Use Ultrahand to place one of them on the runed-plated directly to the right. Bring the other one back down the stairs and place it into the plate to the right, closest to the stairs. Head to the stairs on the other side to the other pair of spheres. Use Ultrahand to place one of the spheres onto the plate at the edge of the room this time, on the lower level to the left of the stairs. Bring the other one to the highest point of this lefthand structure and place it on the runed-plate there.
Head out the newly-opened gate. Before examining the runes at the end of the shrine, you’ll notice there’s another green circle on the ceiling here. Use Ultrahand to remove the tile on the floor directly below the green circle to reveal one last slot for a runed-sphere. Head to the right to find the sphere and place it in the slot. A gate will open to a chest, which contains a Hearty Elixir.
Head back out and examine the green runes to obtain a Light of Blessing and unlock the Kyokugon Shrine on your map for Fast Travel.
