Tadarok is a Shrine in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Tadarok Shrine is a Fire and Water Shrine testing the player's skills in finding the objectives that will solve the puzzles using Link's abilities. Shrines are mini-dungeons, housing quick trials such as puzzles or short enemy encounters. Once a Shrine has been completed, the player obtains a Light of Blessing, an item key to obtaining more Heart Containers and Stamina Vessels, and the Shrine is unlocked as a Fast Travel point. If the Shrine has not been completed but has been activated, it will be marked in yellow on the map. It will still be available for fast travel so that can players return and complete the Shrine at a later time.

Tadarok Shrine Walkthrough Guide

Reaching Tadarok Shrine

The Tadarok Shrine is located in the southwestern area of the Central Hyrule region, in the River of the Dead Waterfall Cave at the edge of the River of the Dead, right beside Mount Hylia. The best way to get there would be to head first to the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower, launch up, and then glide to the east, past the canyons, and onto Mount Hylia. From there, jump and glide to the east while looking for the waterfall at the eastern end of the River of the Dead. Drop down to its base and you should see some land on the west, leading into a cave entrance, marked by a Blupee. Head inside and follow the path to the end where the shrine is, guarded by a Like Like.

How to Complete Tadarok Shrine

Inside and down the stairs, you’ll find yourself in a room with a giant block. Ahead of you are two batteries filled with energy, electrifying the water. As the shrine description suggests, you’ll have to traverse different obstacles related to fire and water to clear this shrine. Use Ultrahand to put the block on the water so you can use it to cross to the other side.

In the next section, you’ll see some fire blowing out from the wall in the corner immediately to your right. An ice block falls down from the chute but gets melted down quite quickly by the fires. Use Ultrahand to get the block you used to cross the electrified water to cover the fire so that you’ll have an ice block to work with. In the corner on the other side is a tall platform with a chest on top. Use both your ice block and the concrete block as stairs to get to the chest, which contains a Mighty Zonaite Shield. Jump back down and bring your ice block to the other side of the room. Place the ice in the lava to make some platforms that you can cross the lava on. Similar to the ice before, there’s a chute here that spits out a wooden block, which gets burned to cinders by the fires. Quickly use Ultrahand on a brand new one to get it out of the fire’s way, and plunge it into the water on the other side to put out the fire. Bring it with you back to the main area. There’s electrified water again blocking your way forward and upward to the end of the shrine, and this time there’s already a block in the water that conducts electricity. Above it is a grate, above which fires are blowing into from the left wall. To get past all this, you’ll have to make a tower of blocks. First, you’ll have to make a new ice block and make sure it’s the largest you can get, so use your concrete block to block out the fires again from the earlier corner, as soon as they melt a previous block. Make your block tower now, making sure that the concrete block is at the base level, so the fires won’t be able to melt or burn it. After that, it doesn’t really matter what comes next, just stack your ice block and your wooden block on top. Use Ultrahand to place your tower on top of the grate, and then take out the ball from the water, which is connected to the battery. Stand on the block that’s submerged in the water and then Ascend all the way up your tower, to the end of the shrine.

Examine the green runes for a Light of Blessing and unlock the Tadarok Shrine on your map for Fast Travel.
