Ascend is an Ability in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Ascend gives Link the ability to pass through solid objects above him. Abilities in Zelda TotK are the abilities that you can obtain throughout your playthrough by completing certain Quests. These Abilities will prove useful in solving puzzles, exploring and having access to some parts of Hyrule, and also using them in Combat.
Zelda TotK Ascend Information
The Ascend causes Link to rise up straight into the air and pass through solid objects above him. There has to be a surface above for Link to use this ability, like ceilings, platforms, etc. It acts as a fixed vertical teleportation ability given that there's a solid object above Link. This ability can be used for example, if you want to climb up a large mountain, and as long as you can enter a cave within that mountain, you can just use this ability to go straight up without having to climb the mountain.
How to get Ascend in Zelda TotK
You will automatically acquire Ascend from the Main Quest: The Closed Door.
