Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Regional Phenomena Quest Walkthrough

Location To Begin: Regional Phenomena

Upon using the initial Skyview Tower to synchronize the map, the Regional Phenomena quest is initiated automatically as part of the main quest Crisis at Hyrule Castle. It is mandatory to finish this quest before progressing with the main story. To facilitate this walkthrough, we will cover the objectives in the following sequence:

Head Towards The Hebra Region Located In The Northwest Region

Head northeast to reach Lindor's Brow Skyview Tower, which is situated amidst water. You'll find some wooden planks directly south of it, which can be joined together to form a floating wooden bridge. Place it over the water and jump from the bridge onto the rock wall to start climbing. It's important to start the climb with full stamina to reach the top successfully. Once you reach the top, activate the tower to reveal the entire map.

Upon reaching the top of the Skyview Tower, head north and fly across the canyon to reach the snowy region on the other side. A recommended flying technique is to use the X button to glide until your stamina is at 25%, then free fall and hold the Left Stick Upwards to move forward. As you approach the snowy region, glide again to use your last 25% of stamina to land safely. If you fail, you can fast-travel back to the Skyview Tower to try again. Note that the region is extremely cold, so it is advisable to equip cold-resistant armor or bring fire sources, such as flint, wood, and torches, for warmth. More information on this will be discussed in the following step.

In the snowy region, keep an eye on the temperature meter located in the bottom right corner next to the minimap. As long as it remains above the blue level, you won't take any damage. If you have obtained the Archaic Warm Greaves during Main Quest: The Closed Door, or possess any other Cold Resistance armor, equip it now to protect yourself from cold damage. This should be sufficient to safeguard you against the cold. However, if you don't have any Cold Resistance gear, you can cook Peppers (which can be found on Skyview Island at Pit Cave entrance, where you can fast-travel back to) to create a meal that provides cold protection. Alternatively, drop flint and wood to make a campfire, then use a torch (melee weapon) on it to keep yourself warm as you move. You can also combine Fire Fruit with specific items like Arrows to make fire. Proceed to the west until you arrive at Lucky Glover Gazette. You can talk to the person inside to initiate the Potential Princess Sightings Side Quest. However, for now, disregard this quest and move on to the next step.

At the western end of Lucky Glover Gazette, you'll find a campfire outside. Look for a Hylian Pine Cone from your inventory and place it into the fire. You can find these cones scattered around the area, often under trees. Alternatively, you can use an axe to cut down a tree and get them. When you combine the Pine Cone with the campfire, it creates a gust of air. Use your paraglider to fly over the broken bridge by jumping with the X button and then opening your paraglider over the fire by pressing X again.

Proceed along the path behind the broken bridge until you arrive at Rito Village located in the center of Lake Totori. Then, climb up the stairs to reach the quest marker and have a conversation with Tulin and Teba. After starting the Tulin of Rito Village Main Quest, it's highly recommended to complete the Gatakis Shrine first, which will create a permanent fast-travel point in Rito Village. Check this specific guide for more information.

Complete the Tulin of Rito Village Main Quest

This is a section of this guide where you will be asked to complete a specific quest first before continuing this quest. As quest correlates with one another and branches out as well. Check our Tulin of Rito Village Main Quest Guide. After completing it, continue following this guide.

Proceed to Eldin Located In The Northeast Region

After completing the main quest in Rito Village, your next destination is Eldin, located in the northeast. Head to the Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower, situated in the southern part of Eldin. Climb up the mountain using a slope that isn't too steep. Upon arrival, you'll meet a man in front of the Skyview Tower who informs you that the tower is locked due to rubble falling on it, which opened the roof. Watch for debris falling from the sky to the east of the tower. Once the debris lands, stand on it, use the Recall ability to raise it, and jump off it to glide to the top of the tower. Alternatively, you can drop through the hole in the tower, open your glider to avoid falling damage, interact with the switch, and use the launchpad. This action unfolds the Eldin region map.

Once you've reached the Skyview Tower, you can head north by air to reach the quest marker. Upon landing on the main road, follow it up to Goron City. Once you're there, speak with the elderly turtle gentleman at the town square to trigger the beginning of the Yunobo of Goron City main quest. It's essential that you complete this quest at this stage in order to progress the story.

Complete the Yunobo of Goron City Main Quest

In this section, it is advisable to complete the Main Quest: Yunobo of Goron in order for players to proceed. Check our dedicated page for it as the quest has its own in-depth guide.

Move Towards The Lanayru Region Located in the East

To reach Lanayru, travel to the Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower and launch yourself up. From there, fly towards the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower in Lanayru. Although it's too far to reach with one glide, you'll be able to cover most of the distance. After that, climb up the mountain walls until you reach the tower.

To remove the goo blocking the door, collect Splash Fruits from the small trees around the tower and place them on the ground near the goo. Strike them with a melee weapon to release water that will wash away the goo. Once the path is clear, launch from Upland Zorana Skyview Tower and glide towards Zora’s Domain. In the town square, talk to the three characters to continue the quest.

Complete the Sludge-Covered Statue Main Quest Along With The Sidon Questline

This is rather a series of quests to complete on its own. Before continuing this guide, the following quests must be completed.

Head Towards The Gerudo Region Located in the Southwest

Once you're done with the quest in Eldin, proceed to Gerudo in the southwest by following the quest marker. Note that this is a scorching desert region, so it's advisable to travel there at night. To make the most of your journey, bring plenty of wood and flint to craft campfires along the way. These can help you pass the time until nightfall, which makes the desert environment cooler and prevents you from taking heat damage.

Travel southeast from Lookout Landing, making sure to activate the Hyrule Field Skyview Tower to reveal the map. Head towards the mountains and pass a Mini Stable and a mining camp was known as Gerudo Canyon Pass. You'll find ladders that lead up the hill, but the last part requires you to climb the wall by hand. Look for the lights of the Skyview Tower, which is the only tall tower in the area and easy to spot. However, you must climb a bit more to reach it. During the day, you'll take heat damage, so it's best to make a campfire by dropping Wood and Flint. Rest until nightfall to avoid heat damage. After activating the tower, the map will clear. Check the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower Page for more information.

After reaching the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower, glide down towards an oasis shrine and activate it ( Mayatat Shrine ) to make it a fast travel point. Then, jump into the nearby whirlwind to be lifted up and fly towards another shrine located on a hill in the middle of a sandstorm. Navigate through the sandstorm until you reach the shrine, which serves as your gateway to Gerudo Town. The sandstorm creates poor visibility and makes it challenging to find your way around, but there are whirlwinds scattered throughout that can help lift you up above the sandstorm. Follow the general direction of the shrine on the rock, and use the whirlwinds to guide your path. When you arrive at Gerudo Town, it's advisable to climb up the rock to activate the shrine ( Saryotanog Shrine ) and make it a permanent fast-travel point.

To reach the palace in Gerudo Town, drop into the well located on the left side of the courtyard next to the staircase. Swim up the river and use the Ascend ability to teleport through the ceiling. Once inside the palace, you will meet the people of Gerudo Town and trigger a cutscene, which starts the next main quest.

Complete The Riju of Gerudo Town Main Quest

To proceed further, one needs to complete The Riju of Gerudo Town Main Quest. After completing it, continue this guide.
