Zelda TotK Tulin of Rito Village Quest Walkthrough

Find Harth at the Lodge in Zelda: TotK

This main quest begins automatically during Main Quest: Regional Phenomena. Tulin will point you in the direction of Harth in the Hebra Mountains, in a lodge marked by campfires. This objective will be marked on the map and you can fast travel to Rospro Pass Skyview Tower if you have previously unlocked that checkpoint. If not, don't worry there are still other ways. Travel to Lucky Clover Gazette, when you see a broken bridge, you must use your Paraglider to fly against it and climb to the top. From there, you can simply follow the path to the quest marker until you see a lodge. Go inside the lodge and you will find Harth there, he's the character in purple/black color.

Find Tulin in the Mountain Cave in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Harth informs you that Tulin and the others left to scavenge for food in a cave up the mountain. You will go after them and search for this cave. At this point, it is recommended to first unlock the Skyview Tower if you haven't. This will reveal the map and will make navigation easier.

Continuing the search for the cave where Tulin is, go up the path after climbing two ladders, and after passing a campfire and some enemies, make a left turn and you will see a big bonfire at a cave entrance. This is called "Hebra Summit Cave." Go inside the cave and talk to the NPC. The NPC tells you that Tulin and the others went further into the cave. Following the right path of the cave, you will reach a big room with a gust of wind. Be ready to use your paraglider to fly up and be sure to land in the opening at the top of the room.

When you reach the top, you will see a creature walking on the ceiling. You can either shoot it down or run past it. You will find an extinguished bonfire in the next room. You have to light it up by dropping flint and striking it with a sharp weapon. Now, take a Hylian Pine Cone from your inventory and drop it into the fire you just created. This will produce a big gust of wind or also called an updraft, and then you can use your paraglider over it to go up.

Continue on the path forward until you find another campfire with an NPC called Gesane. He tells you that Tulin left the cave and we must find him at the Lone Cedar Tree on Tolonto Peak. This is not too far, just North on a mountaintop outside the cave.

Find Tulin on Tolonto Peak in Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Leave the cave by following the path behind Gesane. From there, head North towards a big mountain peak called Tolonto Peak. You will find Tulin on top of this mountain. Observe your surroundings and look at the gusts of wind near the mountaintop. You can use these to fly up with your Paraglider to reach Tulin.

Get back Tulin's Bow from the Monster in Zelda: TotK

Tulin's Bow was stolen by the monster and he wants to get it back. You can see the monster flying in the distance. For this, Tulin will join your team. You can command him with (A) "Let's Go", then (A) again to cast a gust of wind (Updraft) straight ahead. While the wind is still active, use the paraglider to fly over it and then land on the big platform directly below the flying monster. This location is marked on the map. After landing safely on the platform, shoot the aerocuda with arrows to get the bow back. This will trigger a cutscene and then enemies will spawn afterwards.

After defeating the monsters, Harth and Gesane will arrive and talk to you. They will ask both you and Tulin to investigate the big storm cloud and Sky Islands near Hebra Peak.

Climbing The Rising Island Chain With Tulin Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

To complete this quest, you will have to use Tulin's gusts to quickly cross large gaps while pairing it with the Ascend skill to create platforms. If you have extra Zonai rockets on you, you can also use those to launch yourself upwards. This climbing section is a bit lengthy so buckle up. Keep doing the same combination until you get to the big tower-like structure with a shrine on it. Continue on until you reach the very top above the Storm Cloud.

As you move toward the shrine in front of you, you will spot a flying boat in the distance. The tops of these boats work like trampolines wherein, jumping on top of them will launch you upwards to give you a huge boost up in the air. This will allow you to use a paraglider to fly around with ease. This will also give access to the Mayaumekis Shrine, which will unlock a permanent fast travel point to these islands.

You will notice an ice layer directly in front of the shrine, so break it open to get a chest with five arrows inside. Continue forward using Tulin's gust of win to help you close the gaps in the sky islands. Once you get on the second platform, take out the construct and continue your path upwards. You will find several constructs on this island, so defeat them as you make it up the stairs. During this part of the game, Tulin will back you up and assist with fighting.

Jump down to the platform with the icicles and you will notice 2 boxes on the platform as well. Use a ranged weapon to destroy the icicles and then using Ultrahand, stack the boxes and use Ascend. When you get to the next area, you will be greeted with a construct, so defeat that first and open the chest with 3 portable pots. Now, destroy the icicles again with a ranged weapon, jump down on the platform that you just cleared, and Ascend up the pillar.

For the next set of islands with the archway, you have to Fly with Tulin and keep gliding from island to island while making sure to defeat the construct along the way. Following the path, you will see a large blocky creature called a flux construct I. It's up to you if you want to fight it or skip it. However, you should note that it will drop lots of Zonai charges, a flux construct I core, and an Old Map which leads you to the location of miner's armor headgear.

Continue the regular route and break the ice platform in front of you before jumping on the floating boats trampoline. When you get to a cracked rock platform, try breaking the rocks using your weapon. Then, you can jump on the boat under the area that you have just broken, and continue to the next platform. Defeat the aerocuda and continue moving up, breaking the ice platform to reveal another trampoline. While making sure that you carefully jump from boat to boat, and avoid or defeat the aerocuda flying around.

In your path, you will reach a small shelter with chillfin trout, a cooking pot, flint and other goodies inside. Use the pot to make some much-needed food and some cold resistance elixirs if you haven't already. After jumping on the next platform, you will see some monsters fighting each other. Wait for them to finish their fight and once they're down, you can head for the bridge. However, this bridge will collapse so make sure you move quickly.

Moving on to the next island, you will find several constructs again. You can use Zonai bombs to break the rocks and create a hole. Now Ascend back up and climb up the stairs. At this point, you'll need to build a hot air balloon. You will be needing metal grates, a Zonai balloon, and a flame-emitter. Experiment with it and then ride it to fly to the next island. Proceed to the Kahatanaum Shrine. Eventually, you'll reach the final platform with stairs that will lead you to another trampoline boat. Use it to jump upwards, and then jump onto one flying boat onto the next, until you reach the eye of the storm. And at last, drop down into the center of the storm cloud and that will trigger the cutscene.

You finally made it to the Wind Temple.

Opening the 5 Locks on Wind Temple Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

After the cutscene, you will see a green glowing gate in front of you. Approach the gate and wait for the dialogue to appear. This unlocks a permanent fast travel point and your next step will be to unlock all five locks so you can open the hatch on the deck. Don't worry, Tulin will be with you to help you fly and glide around so you can get the task done. There is no specific order to undo the locks, and you are free to do them in any order.

Wind Temple Lock #1

On the main deck, face north and walk down until you reach some locked doors. Make use of your Ultrahand skill to attach an icicle to the lever of the right door. Look around you to find the icicle, you will find the mostly on the ground. Then, using the same skill, push the lever to the left. Make sure to place the icicle standing up, similar to a lever handle so that it will have a free-range movement when you try to push it.

Once the door opens up, you will find a wind turbine. Ask Tulin to create a Wind Gust to power it on and this will open the first lock in the main deck.

Wind Temple Lock #2

From the main deck, use your Paraglider on top of the big wind turbine to land on top of the tallest tower in the northern area of the ship. Use Utrahand to open the two metal gates on the roof. This gives you an entrance into the tower and you will see red lasers as you drop down. Try to avoid the red lasers as you fall. As you reach the ground, launch your Paraglider to move into the opening where the next wind turbine is. Just like the first lock, make use of Tulin's Wind Gust to power it on.

When you're done powering it on, use the Paraglider once again to get out of the tower. Be careful of the red lasers again.

Wind Temple Lock #3

Fly down to the left side of the ship, you will see an opening leading to the ship. Be careful of an enemy in this part, it will launch ranged attacks at you. Follow the path to your right until you see icy walls. Continue on the path and fly into the opening below the left icy wall to get to the lower floor. You will find the enemy there and reach the 3rd lock. Again, use the Wind Gust to power it on. To get out of the bottom floor, glide out into the side and use the bouncy roofs to reach the icy wall that you saw earlier.

Wind Temple Lock #4

Now that you're back in the icy wall, use the Wind Gust to fly across the gap. When you reach the opposite area of the ship, you will find an enemy inside the room. Defeat it and use Ascend to fly up through the ceiling. When you get to the upper floor, you will find a cog and a locked door. Using your Ultrahand ability, turn the stone so the cog will turn as well. Continue to turn it until you see the door on the right open a little bit. Let go of it and cast Recall ability. Quickly climb up the ladder towards the locked door. This should give you enough time to climb through, but make sure to be quick. Then, using the Wind Gust, you will power on the turbine removing the 4th lock if the timing is right. Then go back out into the deck.

Wind Temple Lock #5

The last lock is located just under the ship. To go there, glide down from the Eastern side of the ship and then you'll see a small platform with some lanterns. Land there. Fight the construct, activate the turbine using the Wind Gust then go back up.

Colgera Boss Fight

Now that the 5 locks have been released, you can now go back to the main deck. To begin the boss fight, approach the green gate on the main deck. You can make a manual save if you want to, and make sure to have enough arrows, heals, and resources with you. The fight will happen mid-air, so you have to make sure that you also have a good supply of cold resistance meals.

When you're ready, approach the green gate and begin the fight. Shoot arrows from a good distance and keep up evading its attacks. Every time you destroy a piece of ice from the boss, it will teleport and attack from below. Make sure to keep flying to evade its attacks. Once you deal enough damage to the boss, it will change its attack patterns and switch to casting tornadoes, and during this phase, the Colgera will disappear and reappear. Once again, continue firing at the Colgera to expose the weak points in the underbelly.

Repeat this for all throughout the fight, and you'll defeat the Colgera in no time. Once the boss is down, grab the Heart Container dropped from the boss. Interact with the altar and then the cutscene will be triggered.

After the fight, you will now gain Vow of Tulin, which allows you to use Tulin's abilities around the map wherever you are, wherever you need it. The snowstorm that was ravishing the Hebra Mountains is also gone now.
