Starting Location: Korok Forest

From the depths, you managed to penetrate Korok Forest from underneath and find yourself in the forest vicinity. Speak to the forest folks here to learn the whereabouts of the Great Tree Deku.

Clearing The Curse in Korok Forest

Not long enough, you will be able to find The Great Tree Deku since the game will introduce the Tree to you. However, you soon discover that the tree is unable to react or move at all. Head inside the tree and find a hole that will lead you to a chasm known as Deku Tree Chasm. Continue to free fall until you reach the bottom of the Chasm.

As soon as you touch the ground, enemies will spawn from the miasma and prepare for battle. You will be dealing with five long dark hand-like beings. To counter them, simply hitting them with attacks will suffice. However, using Bomb Flower to hit all at once may hasten the process. Keep your distance and if you plan on engaging on a melee range, time in your attacks and strategically unleash your blows. Eventually, all the targets will go down and be ready for the next battle.

Beating The Boss Phantom Ganon

Phantom Ganon will now spawn from the ground. Be alert as the boss may possibly rush towards you and hit you with an attack, maintain your distance and wait for its first move. When its target is near its range, it usually thus a 360-degree slash. Wait for it to attack and damage it so Phantom Ganon will not have the chance to strike back. Since the boss relies on its sword, you can take advantage of using bows to damage it from a distance and avoid a melee fight.

It is worth noting that the boss has a slow movement speed unless it closes its gap towards you with its dash move. Its dash attack is easy to predict since it will make a telegraphed move before it does, so waiting for a perfect dodge is ideal. After dodging the attack perfectly, unleash a Flurry Attack to deal a significant amount of damage to Ganon. Repeat this strategy and the phantom will soon be defeated. Defeating this boss purifies the inner chasm and will let you progress.

Speak To Deku

Teleport back to Korok Forest and noticed that the forest was cleansed and its folks are now available for interaction. Speak to them and they will eventually lead you to Deku. Find one of the enormous roots inside the tree that will lead you to the upper part of this level. Speak to Deku and he will tell you the whereabouts of Link's Master Sword by sensing it and pin-pointing it on the map. He will thank you for cleansing his inner parts.

Recovering The Sword

Now that you have a clue of the sword's location, teleport your way to Lookout Landing Skyview Tower. This will be your starting point. Here, you can take advantage of the Emergency Shelter that the game will let you use. Restock or rest accordingly before finding the sword. There is also an Angel Statue in here so use it according to what parameters you want to increase. Teleport your way to In-isa Shrine since the Quest Marker or next destination is not far from here. The Shrine was placed on relatively high altitude ground, take advantage of this by gliding through this place to you. From here you will be able to see the Dragon where the Master Sword lies. Glide your way through and you should be able to reach it. Go to the Dragon's head and pull the sword.

This concludes the quest of Recovering the Hero's Sword and continuing the main quest, check our guide with Impa and the Geolyphs main quest to proceed.
