The Soldier weapons are pretty great weapons, even past early game. The faster charge speed practically halves the time needed to pull off a charge attack, allowing you to spam them and potentially create space in a crowded fight, or simply land a meaty blow against your foes. Of course, being decayed, this is hardly going to win any awards for attack power, but the simple utility of its bonus effect can't be denied.
