Gerudo Scimitar |
|
8 A decaying scimitar from the Gerudo region, it is designed for maximizing force. Attaching a material greatly enhances the material's power but doesn't add as much durability. |
Gerudo Scimitar is a One-Handed Weapon in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Weapons in Zelda TotK feature a diverse set of weapons, each having its own stats, strengths, and weaknesses. Players must remember that weapons will eventually break once their health starts to chip when it is used, however, luckily, weapons can be easily found by looting chests, destroying grass, stealing it from enemies, and crafting or infusing different weapons or materials.

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Gerudo Scimitar Notes & Trivia
- Notes, Tips, and other Trivia for Gerudo Scimitar.
TOTK does its best to drive home that you really should be using Fusion. If the fact you have to fuse to get hammers and axes wasn't enough, the Gerudo questline drives it home with the new area exclusive enemy - the Gibdo. They take chip damage from everything unless sofened up with an Elemental effect beforehand - and I mean any effect. Fire, Lightning, Ice, Water, Light, and Explosions (though some of these are harder to come by than others). While throwing Fruits of any kind works for small groups, fusing is much better for prolonged fights, and the Gerudo's weapons reflect that by doubling the fuse attack of whatever is attached to them.
You can thus get some crazy values with high power gear, even the decayed ones, and they offer the highest base attack value you can get without using an effect with a secondary condition (like the Royal Guard weapons 'increased power just before breaking). The game hands you a bunch of these weapons during the quest, and more can be found in Gerudo Town or the Lightning Temple. The only downside is that they aren't the most durable weapons, but you can find un-decayed ones, repair them with Rock Octoroks, or even just grab another. Definitely worth your time.
