Fuse is an Ability in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Fuse allows Link to merge objects and items to his current Weapon and Shield and this affects how your equipment can be used both in and out of combat. Abilities in Zelda TotK are the abilities that you can obtain throughout your playthrough by completing certain Quests. These Abilities will prove useful in solving puzzles, exploring and having access to some parts of Hyrule, and also using them in Combat.
Zelda TotK Fuse Information
The Fuse ability allows Link to merge objects and other Items to his current Weapon or Shield. You can also merge two weapons together to make new hybrid weapons or add other materials to add new elements to your current arsenal. For example, fusing an Eyeball to your Arrow will make the arrow homing. Fusing a rocket to your shield will act as a makeshift jetpack. There are lots of ways you can experiment and create different combinations with the Fuse ability, and the possibilities are endless.
How to get Fuse in Zelda TotK
You will automatically acquire Fuse from the Main Quest: The Closed Door.

I find that fuse allows for greater combat potential than breath of the wild. It fundamentally adds new levels of depth to combat
