A small and intensely magic rod, it's said to have been wielded by an ancient magician who awoke maximum latent power in gems.

Magic Rod is a One-Handed Weapon in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Weapons in Zelda TotK feature a diverse set of weapons, each having its own stats, strengths, and weaknesses. Players must remember that weapons will eventually break once their health starts to chip when it is used, however, luckily, weapons can be easily found by looting chests, destroying grass, stealing it from enemies, and crafting or infusing different weapons or materials.

    • In the shift to TOTK, a lot of weapons upped and vanished, to be replaced via Fusion. The answer to Wizzrobe wands? Stick a gem to a sword. The high tier ones? Stick a gem to one of these. On top of that, the game gave us both Spear and Two-Hand versions of this, and let them be purchasable from Bargainer statues. Too bad they can't get modifiers period though. Oh well, these are still great.

Attach a Ruby to throw three fireballs! Set everything on fire! Keep warm in the cold!
Attach a Sapphire for a big freezing cone! Stunlock foes and make fights super chill! Keep cool in the warm!
Attach a Topaz for electric balls! Stun enemies and drop their weapons for you to steal! Super effective with water or rain!
Attach an Opal to throw bouncing water balls! Extremely useful in Zoras Domain and its associated main quest, as well as when fighting its quest boss, particularly in its refight locations in the Depths! (seriously, bring an Opal rod to turn that fights second phase from an annoyance into a joke.)
Attach a Star Fragment to hurl balls of Light! ...I have not done this, because Star Fragments are too rare and valuable to waste on a weapon unless I intend to unfuse it before it breaks! But I assume it does the most damage and dazzles enemies it hits!

Also these things turn up everywhere! Shrine Chests, second-tier Wizzrobes, buy em in the Depths - never leave home without at least one variant of the magic stick!
