The legendary sword that seals the darkness. Its corruption was healed by its time with the Light Dragon. The blade gleams with sacred luster that can oppose the Demon King.

Master Sword is a One-Handed Weapon in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Weapons in Zelda TotK feature a diverse set of weapons, each having its own stats, strengths, and weaknesses. Players must remember that weapons will eventually break once their health starts to chip when it is used, however, luckily, weapons can be easily found by looting chests, destroying grass, stealing it from enemies, and crafting or infusing different weapons or materials.

    • Ah, the blade of evils bane, back again... and basically the exact same as the last game. Don't let the description fool you, it functions exactly the same as before, right down to running out of energy and needing a 10 minute recharge. There are, however, a few differences.

Firstly, it will ALWAYS be at the very top of the weapon inventory, even when depowered, which is a nice QoL change.

The second thing is that it doesn't display its attack power. Testing generally results in the same 30 power as last time though, which doubles in the presence of Darkness. But this time, its a LOT more applicable.

See, the anti-darkness effect triggers in the presence of Gloom, which means it can trigger in all sorts of places. Hyrule Castle? Check. The Gloom Hands? Check. Basically any enemy in the depths that isn't a Frox or Construct? Very much check. That enhanced state gives it double damage and increased durability, which makes it a solid weapon to use when fighting the tougher foes down there. It does not trigger on bosses anymore though, since unlike BOTW they aren't made of pure evil - unless you're refighting them in the Depths and they summon minions, which WILL be Gloomed.

The last unique thing about the Master Sword is how it works with Fusion. While fused, the Master Sword develops a set of Green Zonai characters along the flat edge of the blade, and the fused object fades away - only revealing itself when the weapon is swung as a glowing green construct, which is a very cool visual effect. Be careful about fusing things to the Master Sword though, as you can't retrieve them - Pelison in Tarry Town cannot detach things from it. However, like any other special effect the empowered anti-darkness boost will apply AFTER fuse power, so strap a high power item to this and enjoy doubling it all the time in the Depths.

All in all, you quite literally cannot go wrong with this weapon. After all, you can't get rid of it outside of glitches, and why would you want to? It has its own weapon slot after all. Fi is most pleased.
