A Korok spear with a decayed tip. It's still full of vitality. Bursting materials attached to the spearhead can be reused again and again.

Forest Dweller's Spear is a Spear Weapon in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Weapons in Zelda TotK feature a diverse set of weapons, each having its own stats, strengths, and weaknesses. Players must remember that weapons will eventually break once their health starts to chip when it is used, however, luckily, weapons can be easily found by looting chests, destroying grass, stealing it from enemies, and crafting or infusing different weapons or materials.

    • The Forest Dweller Spear's unique effect has a few good applications, but theres only one that makes sense to me. You could strap a brittle weapon to it to refresh it, you could attach a destructible elemental fruit or Chu Jelly to it. Or you could do the one that does the biggest damage and takes best advantage of the effect - Gibdo Bones.

The most farmable high damage fuse materials in the game, as you are guaranteed a drop from every single Gibdo you immolate/freeze/electrocute/flashbang/make wet. The Lightning Temple even has a bunch in a pit somewhere, and you can potentially farm the **** out of them during the Gerudo Main Quest - specifically the sections involving unlimited Gibdo spawns, but after the Gerudo Town segment you don't really have anywhere as near as good a farming opportunity. Still, they're easy to farm, and have a whopping 40 fuse power - but break extremely easily due to literally being a brittle ribcage.

But the Forest Dweller's Spear circumvents that... or at least it should've. Except it DOESN'T, APPARENTLY. I would thus like to formally apologise for my Forest Dweller's Sword comment for being blatantly inaccurate, since I haven't actually had the chance to test this yet. It only works on things that get used up in a single hit, but not on Gibdo Bones, Bombs, or Ancient Blades. So Chu Jellies, elemental Fruits, Puffshrooms, Muddle Buds, and Brightbloom Seeds are your best bet here. Which seriously hurts the weapons viability as there are FAR better options for elemental effects that also have the benefit of enhanced durability and being useable on much stronger weapons without breaking (such as the Dragon Shard Spikes, which are extremely easy to gather in large quantities and have Hammer properties on top of their elemental effects).

Stick to using Gibdo Bones as Arrow ammunition, since their plentiful supply plus a multi-shot bow can give you a colossal damage boost without needing to waste a high-level lynel part or obliterate the drops with an Ancient Blade. As for this...? If you want unlimited elemental effects, smoke bombs, or confusions, go nuts, but its much better to opt for a recharging indestructible part for better damage, or to throw your puffshrooms/muddle buds so you can sneak attack with a weapon that actually does damage or continue to confuse from a safe distance. Not like you'll run out easily, between grabbing them in the Depths while exploring or trading with the Bargainer Statues.
