A decayed claymore prototype for the royal guard. It's made of a metal refined using an unusual method, and it holds massive destructive power just before it breaks.

Royal Guard's Claymore is a Two-Handed Weapon in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Weapons in Zelda TotK feature a diverse set of weapons, each having its own stats, strengths, and weaknesses. Players must remember that weapons will eventually break once their health starts to chip when it is used, however, luckily, weapons can be easily found by looting chests, destroying grass, stealing it from enemies, and crafting or infusing different weapons or materials.

    • OH DEAR HYLIA WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR BLADE?!

Yeah, you thought the Royal Guard weapons were brittle before, see what happens when one is decayed. They're also significantly rarer than the first game, where you could lift them from statues and monsters all over the final dungeon - instead, there's like one of these in the back of Zelda's room in the floating part of the Castle, and thats about it for consistent finds.

Doubled power output makes this weapon a monster for all of three hits before it becomes shards on the wind. However, this trait makes it a certified Lynel Killer weapon, as you lose no durability on a weapon when you mount a Lynel and smack it a few times. As long as you keep it at a critical state, it will always outdamage any Gerudo Claymore with the same fused item in this role, albeit being harder to find and likely needing a Rock Octorok to gain a modifier if you grab the Castle one. Additionally you won't be able to use it as an actual weapon in a pinch, since itll be three, two, or only one hit from shattering completely.

If you use this weapon as a Lynels bane, keep it brittle and keep it safe. Otherwise, don't fuse anything too valuable to it - it wont be with you for long.
