Hudson Signs in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are a type of side activity and puzzle that Link can complete to obtain various rewards. Hudson Signs involve assisting a construction worker named Addison with putting up signs for the Hudson Construction company all over Hyrule. These puzzles involve using the Ultrahand ability along with varying types and amounts of construction materials available at each location to create a support structure that will successfully keep each sign upright. For each Hudson Sign completed, Addison will reward Link with useful items and resources such as Rupees, meals and rare materials. What are Hudson Signs?
Early on in Link's adventure, he will come across Addison — a loveable, if a bit oafish, construction worker — struggling to keep a sign of President Hudson standing upright.
This presents an opportunity for Link to use his newly acquired Ultrahand ability to help the poor sap out by constructing a stable base or other implement that will hold the sign in place, long enough for Addison to create a more permanent support.
Addison is on a quest to fill Hyrule with many such signs depicting his beloved President and employer, in order to promote the Hudson Construction company. These Hudson Signs are essentially small physics puzzle-based tasks that Link can undertake to obtain some minor rewards. The first such encounter with Addison is in Central Square, on the way to Hyrule Castle during the main quest Crisis at Hyrule Castle. After this, Addison can be found in varying locations throughout Hyrule. See the locations section at the bottom of the page for details.
Hudson Sign Rewards
Each time Link helps Addison with his dilemma, he will be rewarded with useful items which typically consist of a small amount of Rupees, Food, Materials, among others.

How to solve Hudson Sign Puzzles
Each Hudson Sign that Addison holds is slightly different with regards to why it won't stay upright. Some signs are top-heavy and require a more sturdy base, some require additional stands, while others are propped on uneven terrain.
To figure out what's wrong with a sign, Link can interact with Addison and tell him to let go. Carefully watch how the sign falls over and then utilize the Ultrahand ability, along with the Hudson Construction Materials typically in the vicinity of each sign in order to build a temporary support structure that will hold the sign in place. Materials available will vary with each sign and can include wooden planks, pieces of lumber, logs and many others.
Once your creation is in place, ask Addison to let go once more and, if the implement is successful in holding the sign in place for at least 4-5 seconds, the screen will go black as Addison quickly creates a more permanent support structure.
There are no set methods success and Link is free to get creative with regards to solving these puzzles. Hudson Signs are a testament to Tears of the Kingdom's extremely robust physics engine which takes into account proper weight distribution and balancing against the terrain and other challenges.
Who is Hudson?
Hudson is the President of Hudson Construction, a company that has made great strides in the rebuilding of Hyrule. Players of Breath of the Wild may recognize Hudson as a lowly construction worker that Link encounters, who played a pivotal role in the construction of Tarrey Town in the Akkala Highlands.
In Tears of the Kingdom, Hudson has made quite a name for himself, alongside Rhondson, a Gerudo woman and also a returning character, who was being pressured by her parents to go out into the world and find a husband. Rhondson is a skilled tailor whom Link persuaded to move to Tarrey Town to work with Hudson. The two have since married and built the Hudson Construction company, tackling major projects aimed at rebuilding Hyrule to its former glory.
