When you are airborne, a slow-mo effect will trigger when you aim with your Bow, you will also see your Stamina quickly being reduced while this is in effect. This page covers a list of all available Bows in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Bows and Arrows Fusing in TOTK
Fusing weapons was a feature that was announced prior to the official release date of the game. This new ability in Tears of the Kingdom allows players to attach any Materials with not just Weapons in order to create a new type of weapon with improved stats and durability, but now allows you to launch or add effects to arrows as well. A gameplay demo was released on what it is like to fuse Materials to arrows and a few examples of their effects.
How to Fuse Materials to Arrows TOTK
Players can select to fuse with their Bow and Arrow equipped. You can fuse a Material even as you take Aim. This will bring up a menu allowing you to select which Material to attach.
What Materials Can be Used to Fuse with Arrows
Materials can encompass any item that falls under the Materials menu. This includes Meats, Foraged Items, Monster Parts and other Ingredients.
Material Effects on Arrows in TOTK
Some of the best Material choices were featured in a few early-release demo videos. Elemental Chuchu Jelly can now be used to directly affect targeted opponents by applying the related status effects upon contact. A White Chuchu Jelly will have ice properties, so this will create an ice arrow once fused. Shooting with this new fused arrow will cause the targetted creature to temporarily freeze in ice. The same is expected to occur if fusing its fire, or shock counterparts; allowing you to create makeshift Bomb, Fire or Shock arrows as well with common Materials.
Another example is a Keese Eyeball. Attaching a Keese Eyeball will give the Arrow homing abilities. Players are encouraged to experiment with the different materials to learn their effects.
