The Sheikah used the very essence of ancient technology to forge this greatsword. It's low in durability, but its magic yields massive destructive power just before it breaks.

Royal Guard's Claymore + is a Two-Handed Weapon in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Weapons in Zelda TotK feature a diverse set of weapons, each having its own stats, strengths, and weaknesses. Players must remember that weapons will eventually break once their health starts to chip when it is used, however, luckily, weapons can be easily found by looting chests, destroying grass, stealing it from enemies, and crafting or infusing different weapons or materials.

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Royal Guard's Claymore + Notes & Trivia

  • Each of the pieces of the Royal Guard's Weapon set (One-handed, Spear and Two-handed) boast the second highest base damage out of any weapon in their category, being beaten soley by the Gloom weapons. As such, a wise Hylian would be keen to save these weapons for emergency situations or tough bosses, as well as fuse them with some of the strongest materials they have.
  • Their main weakness comes from their durability, which as stated in the description, is exceptionally poor compared to other weapons near their base damage, meaning they can be seen as glass cannon weaponry.

    • DEAR DIN ALMIGHTY WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR ATTACK?! From 72 to 39? This thing is only 7 attack better than the decayed version, and only 5 attack better than the damn flawless Royal Claymore!

...Well, it makes sense, given this can still easily be the highest attack weapon in the game, albeit only truly good as a Lynel Killer as a result of mounted Lynel attacks not taking durability. At critical damage its power doubles, meaning fusing a high attack fusion material such as the Silver Lynel Saber Horn, abusing Rock Octoroks to achieve a +10 attack mod, and bringing it to critical damage, can give you a whopping 194 attack power with which to slap Lynels from their backs.

Sadly that critical health requirement means this weapon is not well suited for regular combat, especially considering its abysmal durability. On top of that, this is a Depths weapon, and one of the rarest of them all in fact, meaning you will absolutely want to preserve this for Lynel abuse instead of breaking it over some random Moblins skull. Save that for the Royal Claymore +, which as stated only has 5 less attack and can gain that same doubled damage for flurry rushes, only truly losing when it comes to non-flurry damage and murdering Lynels while mounted.
